In fact, while in high school in the year 1971, I found out that Jo Amar A'H lived in an apartment house on Ocean Parkway near Avenue N.....so one day a friend and I knocked on his door and then spent an hour with him. It was most enjoyable.

Hi, I’m hoping to find recordings from the 80s or 90s that I had from when I was young. I don’t remember who was singing but they were live concert recordings and had classics like hava nagila and yeverachecha. I listened to most of the HASC concert recordings but couldn’t find these performances.

אין ספק שר שלמה קרליבך הלחין שירים שהם אבן דרך המוזיקה היהודית ואין חולק שהוא הנשמה מוסיקלית גבוהה וכישרון עצום אבל בביצוע הוא היה ממוצע ומטה מרדכי בן דוד הוא היחיד שלקח את השירים של קרליבך ונתן להם את הצבע המתאים ביותר כמובן שיש עוד....... אבל אין ולא היה וכנראה לא יהיה כמותם (קרליבך ומבד)
